An Eyeliner is an essential part of my beauty regimen. Whether I’m going full-on glam or a five minute “no makeup” look, eyeliner is always a part of the program. The problem I have is that my eyes are super sensitive. After experimenting with countless brands, I’m sharing with you the 3 best eyeliners for sensitive eyes.
First off, I swear by liquid eyeliner pens. Nothing, beats them for precision and how long lasting they are. However, pencil and kohl liners smudge which could be a good thing if you are going for a specific look. Unfortunately, they often end up under my eyes – and no one likes a raccoon look. So, I generally prefer a liquid eyeliner so all the eyeliners on this list are liquid eyeliner pens.
As I mentioned, I’ve tried so many eyeliners – ones that make my eyes itch, get red, or even swell. I was very sad when I had to give up on all M. A. C. liners, which were my go-to staple until they “improved their formula” a few years back. So, I’m highlighting liquid eyeliners that are good for my sensitive eyes but you should do your own testing.
Top 3 Liquid Eyeliners for Sensitive Eyes
1) tarte Sex Kitten Eyeliner: the first time I tried this, I got a mini version as a bonus with an eyeshadow pallet. I figured I’d pass it along to my mom if it didn’t work for me, but I fell in love. This Sex Kitten is my current reining favourite. I find this eyeliner has lasted the longest, in terms of how long you can use it. The tip stays together after many, many uses and hasn’t split at all. The colour goes on great and when wearing the liner I find it stays put and doesn’t smudge. It pretty much ticks all the boxes.
2) Kat Von D Tattoo Liner: this was my first pen liner. The precision is great, it’s long lasting, and the colour goes on true for this Tattoo Liner. I tend to only use black liner and the colour goes on well over any eyeshadow. With some liners the colour goes on more grey or blue, as the colour softens over certain eye shadows- this brand doesn’t do that. The only drawback is that towards the end of its life the tip tends to split a bit, which makes a really precise line harder to achieve. However, by that time you need to get a new liner anyway.
3) CLINIQUE Pretty Easy™ Liquid Eyelining Pen: in my experience CLINIQUE wasn’t known for their eyeliners, but I fell in love with this product when I got it in one of their gift with purchase sets. Once again, this is a true colour, it goes on well, and it is very precise. This is a wonderful liner and a great addition to any makeup bag.
A great liner is hard to find, but this list should help you narrow down the choices. These are the 3 best eyeliners for sensitive eyes (based on my experience) plus they also provide a great line.
