5 of My Favourite Beauty Products -December 2021 Edition

by Elyse V

One of the many benefits of online shopping, are online product reviews. Being able to read what customers did and did not like about a product, and determining how the good and the bad match up to your preferences, makes trying a new product a little easier. There is nothing better than knowing someone loves a new product, for the same reasons you would love it, before spending your hard-earned cash on it. So, you see, reviews are invaluable to beauty junkies, like myself. I like give back to my fellow beauty junkies by sharing my 5 current favourite beauty products every month. It’s sort of my own monthly product review and today I bring you the December 2021 edition.

This list of 5 of my favourite beauty products includes new products, old favourites, and products that have earned a loving second chance. It’s all about taking the time to appreciate all the products we use regardless of their cost, how long they’ve been on the market, or how popular they are.

5 of My Favourite Beauty Products- The December 2021 Edition

John Frieda Volume Lift Fine to Full Blow-Out Spray: I love any product that helps bring volume to my fine hair, without weighing it down. It doesn’t take much to make my hair look flat and greasy, even when it’s fresh. You just add the Volume Lift Fine to Full Blow-Out Spray product to towel-dry hair, distributing it from root to tip, and then you blow-dry your hair. For extra oomph, you can add more spray to nearly dry hair to give it even more volume.

HYLAMIDE SubQ Eyes Advanced Serum: This is one of the serums I like to add into my routine to help deal with dark circles. You can use this product in the morning or evening – I like to use it mainly at night. The product has “targeted technologies that improve the look of fine lines, crow’s feet, puffiness, and dark circles.” I find it brightens my under-eye area and helps depuff them as well. Additionally, this product is vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, and alcohol-free.

Garnier Skinactive All-In-1 Cornflower Micellar Cleansing Water For Delicate Skin & Eyes:
I have covered micellar water before on this list, and why it is coming back this time of year in particular, is because it is just a great morning face wash. In the morning, you should rinse off your cream and serums from the night before. Whether or not you are wearing makeup, you should wash your face, before putting on moisturizer and sunscreen. If you want a fast and easy way to wash your face before you start your day, especially in winter, this is a perfect fit. Also, this product doesn’t irritate my ultra-sensitive skin- which is always a plus!

The Slip Skinny Scrunchies: The Slip Skinny Scrunchies are everything! Yes, it is a little pricy for a hair tie, but it is 100% silk (other than the elastic on the inside). I love this product so much that I included it in our Hair Lover’s Gift Guide. The reason this scrunchie is so fabulous is that it does not bend your hair. Unlike coil hair ties which will start to leave a bend or kink in your hair over time as they stretch. The Slip Skinny Scrunchies do not have that problem. The only issue I found is that on rare occasions it has slipped out. I often want my hair out of the way without ruining my blowout and The Slip Skinny Scrunchie fits the bill. I have never had the Slip scrunchie dent or ruin even freshly done hair.

tarteist™ PRO to go palette: The PRO to go palette is one of the best eyeshadow palettes ever- in my opinion. I love this pallet so much that I buy one ahead of me because I use it all the time. After having favourite products become discontinued over the years, I’ve learned to buy an extra; so that I’m never without my favourites. This pallet is especially fantastic for the winter/holiday season, although truthfully it is a year-round pallet. The pallet is gold, taupe, burgundy, bronze, and then there’s like a metallic raspberry and (one of the greatest lid colours of all time) Boss, which is a metallic bronze. Boss is the ultimate lid colour, especially this time of year when you may want a little sparkle without glitter. Boss is always the first colour that I finish in every palette because I love it so much. tarte makes great eyeshadow that blends well, they wear really well, (even without primer) and there’s virtually no fall. I couldn’t love this palette any more if I tried.
