Beauty is an ever evolving industry. This is especially true when it comes to skincare. There is always something newer, better, shinier around the corner. However, there is something to be said for the tried and true brands that are able to stand the test of time and maintain their level of excellence perennially. One such brand, and one of my personal favourites, is Clinique. Clinique is a go-to for a number of fantastic products and I’m featuring 6 of them today in this Clinique skincare review. In short, they still slay after all these years.
First off, it needs to be noted that Clinique has been the one brand that has never irritated my very sensitive skin and eyes. Whenever a beloved product from another line changed their formula, I knew I could turn to a Clinique alternative to fill the void. Since their inception they have prided themselves on using ingredients that avoid “allergens, irritants, and ingredients in ways that could potentially harm skin. And as ingredient research evolves, so do [their] products.“
Also, all Clinique products are free from parabens, phthalates, and fragrance and “(e)ach and every one is thoroughly vetted through a full suite of tests that go beyond Dermatologist Testing and may include Stability Tests, Sensory Tests, Clinical Tests, Ophthalmologist Testing, and Safety in Use Testing.” This information just enforces the high quality and standards that Clinique has always represented.
Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator:
This stuff is magic. It’s the ultimate moisturizer. Now this is my after cleansing moisturizer, not my under makeup moisturizer. “Replenishing Technology actually helps skin create its own internal water source to continually rehydrate itself. Then locks in all that moisture for an endlessly plump, dewy, healthy-looking glow.” We all want a great glow. And if you have ever skipped either your morning or night time moisturizing routine this still has you covered.
Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel:
This is the OG of all-purpose moisturizer. This is the go-to for any makeup bag as it is perfect for night routine, morning routine, or under your makeup. It was the first good quality moisturizer I ever used and I still always keep a bottle of it in my bathroom.
If you read our blog you know we love this product- it was one of our January beauty favourites after all. However, it still deserves to be apart of this list. This pep-start hydroblur moisturizer is thicker than other moisturizers, so it puts a great layer between your skin and makeup. It also helps to fill in lines and blur blemishes. It is like having a filter on your face when you put your makeup on over this product. I don’t use it for my everyday grocery store runs, but for events, zoom meeting/party, or anytime you want to look your best, you need this moisturizer.
Prep Start 2-In-1 Exfoliating Cleanser:
A gentle exfoliating cleanser that prepares your skin for makeup. This will slough off any dead, dry skin, and leave you glowing. Paired with the hydroblur (or not) you’ll see a difference in how makeup will go on. Great skin is the first step to great makeup. You need a flawless canvas for a flawless look. This product helps you achieve that look.
Take The Day Off™ Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips:
This makeup remover cuts through everything. This is one of the few makeup removers that will actually take off all your mascara. No one likes waking up with that smudge of mascara under their eyes or on their pillowcase in the morning.
Moisture Surge™ Overnight Mask:
This is a great hydrating night mask and your skin will drink it up while you sleep. It will have you waking up looking dewy and refreshed.
I could go on and on about the Clinique product line because, in my estimation, it never disappoints. I have used Clinique since I was in high school and over the (many) years since, the products have only gotten better. So, while you may be out there looking for the latest and greatest on the scene, don’t forget the tried and true ones. There is a reason that Clinique skincare still slays after all these years.
Have you tried any of these Clinique products? What’s your favourite? I’d love to hear about your experience with Clinique.
Stay safe, keep well, and be kind to yourself and others.
