My 5 Favourite Green Beauty Products – April 2022 Edition

by Elyse V

It’s Earth Month, so it’s natural that the favourite beauty products we share monthly take on a definitively green tinge. We love green beauty brands and natural lip balm. Plus, it’s spring so we’ve been doing a little makeup spring cleaning to get ready for spring makeup trends from our head down to our polished toes on our sandal-ready feet.  For all these reasons, it’s the perfect time to give a little love to my 5 favourite green beauty products – April 2022 edition (aka Spring and Earth Month).

My thinking with these products was to keep it simple and cover the basics. You’ll see what I mean.

My 5 Favourite Green Beauty Products – April 2022 Edition

Daily Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 30

Sun Bum Skin Care SPF 30 Daily Sunscreen Face Moisturizer

Ok so first off, while SPF 15 is the FDA’s minimum recommendation for protection against skin cancer and sunburn, the AAD recommends choosing a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. Keep that in mind when choosing your SPF. Now on to why we love Sun Bum.

This SPF Sunscreen Face Moisturizer is so lightweight and the non-nano zinc-based formula works as a protective base layer for your daily skincare routine. This unique blend uses antioxidant-rich Banana, Wild Rosella and Niacinamide (if you want to know what this and other ingredients mean click here) to create a moisture barrier on the skin that helps restore healthy hydration and protect against daily skin stressors.

All Sun Bum products are Cruelty-Free, Vegan, Reef Safe, Safe for all Skin Types, and Dermatologist Tested. They are made without Parabens, Phthalates, Sulfates, Mineral Oil, Formaldehyde, and Fragrance.

Be sure to let it fully dry before applying your next layer.

Pacifica Alight BB

Pacifica Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream

Pacifica Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream is a great, lightweight BB cream that’s also easy to build up. It is the perfect BB cream for spring. It makes your skin feel amazingly moisturized and gives it a dewy, lit from within, glow. It does not clog your pores and allows your skin to breathe. Pacifica describes it as a multitasking miracle that hydrates, primes, illuminates, and perfects, leaving a sheer bare skin finish and they are not kidding. It delivers all that and more.

It comes in three shades (light, medium, and dark) and it has specialized mineral pigments that instantly adjust to your skin shade. If you are unsure of which shade to purchase, get 2 and you can mix it up for your own unique shade. It’s very reasonably priced ($16.00 USD a tube) so doing things like this is feasible.

As with all Pacifica products, it’s all-natural, vegan and formulated with ingredients like floral stem cells, coconut water, and hyaluronic acid. Not to mention it is without talc, parabens, phthalates, or mineral oil. It does not contain SPF so be sure to apply your SPF underneath and over top throughout the day.

Not to mention this was one of our ROUND-UP OF OUR 2 BEST CC AND BB CREAMS.

Kopari lip gloss

Kopari Coconut Lip Gloss

Kopari Coconut Lip Gloss is made with 100% organic coconut oil and it keeps lips healthy, hydrated, supple and smooth. Perfect for extra glossy lips trending for spring 2022. You can also mix it with a neutral iridescent eye shadow to add a dewy look to your eyes. Be careful not to get it in your eyes though.

Kopari locks in moisture and gives lips a glossy shine. It also rescues chapped lips. Plus, it’s packed with vitamins & antioxidants like vitamin E and shea butter for anti-ageing and hydrating benefits!

All Kopari products are Non-GMO, sulphate-free and cruelty-free, dermatologist-tested, non-irritating, non-allergenic and safe for sensitive skin! Plus, they are crafted with no parabens, no silicone, and no phthalates.

John Masters Organics Scalp Follicle Treatment

John Masters Organics’ Scalp Follicle Treatment & Volumizer soothes your scalp and adds fullness to your hair. Organic Irish moss strengthens the roots and moisturizes a dry scalp and organic extracts nourishes and balances sebum levels, and renews the scalp.

Other benefits include getting rid of excessive build-up and hydrates hair without weighing it down. Just APPLY TO WET HAIR. I feel like I get the best results when hair is wet versus damp or dry.  Then massage into scalp and throughout hair. It also acts as a styling agent.

Made with over 70% organic content and John Masters products are never tested on animals.

J.R. Watkins Aloe & Green Tea Hand Cream

J.R. Watkins Natural Moisturizing Hand Cream

This hand cream is always popping up on best hand cream lists everywhere; holding its own with much more expensive brands. The combination of shea butter, cocoa butter, and avocado oil nourishes and hydrates your skin and improves the look and feel of dry, ageing, and cracked skin.

I have used this on more than my hands because I love the way it absorbs. I don’t use it on my face but I have used it on my arms, elbows, legs, feet, and decollate. Plus, it has such a great light, fresh scent.

J.R. Watkins high-quality products are made with ingredients from natural sources that work even with sensitive skin. They never use parabens, dyes, or phthalates. They are also 100% cruelty-free and they are certified by Leaping Bunny as a brand that doesn’t test on animals.

That’s our current 5 favourite green beauty products – April 2022 edition. We wanted to cover you from head to toe with products that were good for you, good for the planet, and not too expensive. These products tick all those boxes plus they are high-performing too.
